Multichain’s announcement on July 4 revealed the integration of the Bitcoin-based smart contract protocol Rootstock (RSK) blockchain into its ecosystem.
The cross-chain platform’s integration will facilitate the exchange of Ether, USD Coin, Binance USD as well as other assets between RSK, Ethereum and BNB Chain. The platform said this will provide access to RSK’s security and functionality.
This will facilitate the introduction of Bitcoin to Multichain’s ecosystem and provide access to new markets and use cases. The firm revealed that the integration will offer basic benefits to builders using RSK. The necessity of spending resources to build bridges to capital and addressable markets will be eliminated, while also making it quicker to market new RSK-based platforms.
This also means that users can begin to bridge their ETH, USDC, BUSD, BNB, WBTC and DAI between Ethereum and RSK’s network. The firm will add more chains and tokens to the RSK network ahead.
The firm has been able to update anyCall interoperability protocol thereby facilitating cross-chain communications and name contracts. The merit lies in its ability to help build cross-chain decentralized apps on Rootstock as well as other supported networks.
